Thanks to a large majority of Canadians that were of French descent, the French hated the British government so the British decided on several things for Canada for it to remain a colony with it's empire. The British decided to give Canadians more self government meaning it that this government will control economic policy and banking interests. The Canada’s political is known in political science as liberal constitutionalism or liberal democracy. Thanks to this, the Canadian bank remained relatively stable, thanks to the proper controls you can see much more improvement in it's general. On the other hand bank owners now can stabilize in their businesses so therefore other users are not going to abuse the interest rates and charge higher interest and or card handling.
I
think that the facts are showing the things that really work, not only for the
economy of a country, but also for all the different fields like social, political,
environmental and others. In this case we see that a proper control made by the
Canadian government to the banks make a stable
bank system for many years and even
decades, therefore we will not have very high growths or decrease that can take
us to instability and produce uncertainty.
This
things not only happen in Canada, we have six countries including Canada like
Hong Kong, Malta and Singapore that are city-states
where the homogeneity of the population makes it politically difficult to
create losers. The other two Australia and New
Zealand – all share histories of liberal democracy like Canada.
The Columbia University’s Charles Calomiris said that the banks in the united
states had to apply the looser standards to everyone. That helped fuel an
explosion in poorly underwritten mortgages that contributed to the depth and
severity of the housing crises, this happened in the beginning of the recession
of 2008 in U.S
